The only question I have here is whether *prominent* books should be featured rather than, say, the *first* appearance of the great detectives. Ie, The Doorbell Rang (1966) for Nero Wolfe rather than Fer-de-Lance 1935. Patricia Highsmith's most famous book (probably The Talented Mr. Ripley), or her first one? This is tricky: we could end up having 5 Sherlock Holmes books, for instance, or 7 James Pattersons.... Hayford Peirce 16:56, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
