Komodo dragon [r]: The heaviest extant, although endangered, lizards, with a habitat limited to the Lesser Sunda Islands, including Komodo, in the Malay Archipelago in Indonesia; they are carnivorous, cannibalistic, carrion-eating, and have a sufficiently bacteria-infested mouth that their bite, if it does not kill immediately, will be fatal without intensive veterinary or medical treatment [e]
