Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel (15 November 1891 – 14 October 1944) (also known as the "Desert Fox"), was a German Field Marshal during World War II although his military career dated back to World War I. [1]
Rommel's actions during World War II immortalized him as a chivalrous figure. [2]
