An Individualized Education Plan (usually abbreviated as IEP) is a document, required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), or the education provided by that plan. In the United States, the provision of an IEP to a student identified with a disability is required. However, it is often difficult to obtain due to the fact that school districts try to use as little resources as possible to meet the needs of each student.
