In medicine, antilipemic agents are medications for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia.
Classification
Classes of antilipemic agents include:
- Hydroxymethylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase inhibitors (statins)
- Bile acid sequestrants
- Fibric acid derivatives
- Plant stanols
