Asphalt is defined by the petroleum industry as a tar produced in Petroleum refineries

Asphalt is the term used throughout most of the petroleum industry as the tar produced in petroleum refineries. Many dictionaries have two definitions: (1)the tar produced in refineries and (2) the paving material known as asphalt.

For that reason, I am putting on my editor hat and renaming this article as Asphalt (paving). Then I will subsequently create a new article named Asphalt (petroleum). Milton Beychok 22:30, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
