The henry (symbol H) is the SI unit of inductance. The self- or mutual inductance of a closed loop is 1 henry if a current of 1 ampere gives rise to a magnetic flux of 1 weber.
- 1 H = Wb/A = 1 V⋅s/A = 1 (J/C)⋅(s/A) = 1 J/A2 = 1 N⋅m/A2 = kg⋅m2/(s⋅A)2
The henry was adopted in 1893 by the International Electrical Congress.
