In biology and medicine, hemofiltration is an "extracorporeal ultrafiltration technique without hemodialysis for treatment of fluid overload and electrolyte disturbances affecting renal, cardiac, or pulmonary function."[1]

Hemofiltration may be used as treatment for acute kidney injury.
