I am an American graduate student working on a Master of Arts in Humanities with an emphasis on the Western Canon and a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I hold a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries, and a certificate for teaching English to speakers of other languages. I have previously worked as an English teacher and a web designer/developer. I am a native English speaker, and can read basic Korean and Chinese (Mandarin). I have a wide range of hobbies (e.g., reading, playing guitar, studying languages, and so on).

Citizendium Interests

My interests are varied and diverse, and my desire to contribute to Citizendium will reflect such diversity. I have begun compiling a list of articles which I would like to contribute to or begin.

The History of the Internet. When I finished reading "Where wizards stay up late: The origins of the Internet" by Katie Hafner and Matthew Lyon, I desired to find more information about the pioneers of the Internet. Naturally, the first place I turned was Wikipedia. I was quickly disappointed in the lack of information. This has motived me to become a Wikipedian and start making contributions to the community.

Western Literature. I am a graduate student in the humanities, and my program specifically focuses on the Western Canon. I have found Wikipedia to be a wonderful starting point for information. I often use it to learn about new authors with whom I have no experience. However, in this process, I became disappointed in the quality of many of the articles. So, I have decided to add my ideas and suggestions to the fray.

Theology. My educational background is in religion with an emphasis on theology and biblical studies. So, naturally, I have a desire to contribute to articles within these fields.

Republic of Korea. As an English teacher living in the Republic of Korea, I have developed a deep interest in the country, language, and culture. Unfortunately, many of the Wikipedia articles I have come across on topics of my interests are poorly developed or non-existent. I hope to make contributions in the following areas.

Major cities

Provinces

Islands

Culture

Education. I am both a teacher and one with a deep interest in learning. Because of this, I am interested in articles related to education and particularly English education.
