1993: Ph.D. from Cornell University. Thesis title: "NMR spectroscopic studies of protein unfolding." Thesis supervisor: Prof. Scheraga.

1993-1997: Research Fellow in Prof. Wagner's group in Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School.
