Notice that
Notice that we can get appreciable amounts of traffic despite being far away from the top ten.  But notice also that we are appearing fairly high in the rankings for many searches...at least, for a project that has been around for about a year!

Don't ask me why the positions are different between the two tables...I don't know...I think it changes very often.  I also don't know what exactly the "position" even means, because I'm not locating several of these anywhere near the number as a position number in the search results...very puzzling.

Here is a list (as of Oct. 23, 2007) of the 20 top Google search queries in which CZ appeared. These are the queries that bring us high rankings, but perhaps few clicks.

# pct query position
1 32% metabolism 7
2 17% list of us presidents 10
3 9% histones 10
4 4% famous tennis players 6
5 4% avril lavigne 73
6 4% gaspee affair 8
7 4% don maclean 9
8 4% metal gear solid wiki 7
9 3% avril 53
10 3% checklist template 11
11 2% pnas impact factor 8
12 2% first punic war 10
13 2% periodic table of elements 19
14 2% cat colors 9
15 2% stockxchng 4
16 2% onslow beach 5
17 2% approved 10
18 2% depression of 1893 9
19 1% cobalt ii nitrate 8
20 1% famous marine biologist 6

And the top search queries from which users clicked through to CZ (i.e., we might rank lower, but we get more traffic because the searches themselves are more popular):

# pct query position
1 19% avril lavigne 103
2 19% periodic table of elements 19
3 16% mitochondria 18
4 7% penguins 16
5 5% rottweiler 45
6 4% avril 71
7 4% biology 23
8 3% herpes 228
9 3% labrador 97
10 3% great dane 37
11 3% hitler 38
12 2% table of elements 16
13 2% great danes 30
14 2% declaration of independence 21
15 2% vasco da gama 11
16 2% hayley williams 42
17 1% gonorrhea 164
18 1% periodic table 159
19 1% the periodic table of elements 20
20 1% edgar allen poe 20

Notice that we can get appreciable amounts of traffic despite being far away from the top ten. But notice also that we are appearing fairly high in the rankings for many searches...at least, for a project that has been around for about a year!

Don't ask me why the positions are different between the two tables...I don't know...I think it changes very often. I also don't know what exactly the "position" even means, because I'm not locating several of these anywhere near the number as a position number in the search results...very puzzling.
