Background: I started my career in the field of software engineering where I have forged on for seven years, having taken on roles ranging from product research and design, software development, to localisation, technical publication and consultation, and involving various industries such as Telecommunications and Educational and Computer Graphics.

Eventually, I found myself moving towards the field of linguistics, both professionally and through volunteer work. Thoughout my career in software and up until now, I have subtitled and translated for film festivals (the Toronto International Film Festival and Real Asian Film Festival), anime clubs and other private individual film companies. I have also done translation and editing work for all kinds of printed and online material.

On the more humanistic side, I have taught English as a Foreign Language, professionally and as a volunteer, in Hong Kong, Japan and Canada, imparting the skill of communication in English, while picking up and perfecting my linguistic skills in Chinese, Japanese and French through my students and the experience there.

I started the path of life-long education at Diocesan Girls' School, one of the most prestigious schools in Hong Kong that put heavy emphasis on proper use of the English language, among other things. After which I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada, where I also focused on Psychology and Languages. I currently reside in Montreal, Canada, where I am working towards a certification for teaching in English.
