I've just done a copy edit of this article, making a bunch of little fixes. Just wanted to mention that I've changed all the instances of "the Earl" to "the earl," as nouns go in lower case when accompanied by an article ("living on Earth" vs. "living on the earth.") This is the correct way to do it, but the result is text that looks a little odd, because the earl's proper name isn't used for several paragraphs, so there are very few capital letters for ages, even though specific people are being discussed. "Earl Kennedy" or just "Kennedy" might look better.

Also I've standardized Allan Stewart's name in the text (generally) to "Stewart." There were quite a few instances of his full name being used, and sometimes just his first name.

Also, is it the UK practice to not capitalize the "castle" part of a specific castle's title? I saw both "Dunure castle" and "Dunure Castle" in the text. My instinct says both words ought to be capitalized, but there were more instances of the former than the latter, so I standardized them to all be in "Dunure castle" form. Right or wrong?

Edits and question on capitalization
