William Hubbs Rehnquist (October 1, 1924 - September 3, 2005) was an American lawyer and jurist. He served as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (1973-1986) and as Chief Justice (1986-2005). He was the fourth-longest serving Chief Justice in the history of the court.
