Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

You can find some more information about our collaboration groups if you follow this link Citizendium_Pilot:Discipline_Workgroups.You can always ask me on my talk page or others about how to proceed or any other question you might have.

Manufacturers section of CPU

The reason I added that section was to try and generate links and interest in a proper Intel / AMD article, and for more work to be done on the MOS Technology article. In your opinion, is there some kind of proper way to tell readers "hey here are some common CPU manufacturers, if you're interested" ? My goal wasn't to list all of them... just some common ones. Put yourself in the shoes of someone that didn't know what a CPU was before seeing the article --Eric M Gearhart 15:54, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

Sorry if I sounded harsh in that last comment... looking at the article I see the external links section which kinda serves that purpose. Do you think this article could be broken out a little more? On CZ the policy is more of a "layman's definition" on the main article, and if someone wants to dig deeper they can. Maybe History of the CPU, CPU Manufacturing, CPU Design and Implementation need to get broken out into their own articles? --Eric M Gearhart 16:00, 8 April 2007 (CDT)
I added a section to Talk:Central_processing_unit asking for opinions of others. It's a great article, no doubt about that. I've gotten the feeling on CZ that it would be broken into sub-articles to let the reader "drill down" if they wanted to though --Eric M Gearhart 16:19, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

"Internet" pic

Hey I just noticed you're the same Matt Britt that uploaded the Internet pic that I uploaded from Wikimedia commons over at [[Image:Internet map 1024.jpg]]. To "keep things clean" would you please either upload your image again under your license and speedydelete the one I uploaded, or change the image I uploaded so that it reflects you as the creator, instead of pointing to Wikimedia's server? Thanks --Eric M Gearhart 12:55, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

Matt, just noticed the network image you uploaded. What a great visual of a portion of the internet. Chris Day (talk) 09:38, 27 July 2007 (CDT)
Yes thanks for updating the license info too man :) Eric M Gearhart
