Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! John Stephenson (talk) 13:18, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

welcome, and a note about describing changes for history

Hi Martin! Welcome to The Citizendium; I am enjoying noticing your work on the Samsung article in particular, and I wanted to encourage you to place a descriptive comment in the optional "Summary:" box when editing a page, at least when making major changes. This helps others when they look at the history of the article, to understand what you did, or maybe why. Once an article gets a longer history, these comments are extremely helpful, and they are also nice when the wiki emails people who have that page on their Watchlist. They will see the comment in the email and probably won't need to click on the article to understand what kind of work is going on. So, it's the sociable thing to do. When making trivial changes such as punctuation or spelling, it is okay to click the "Minor edit" box so the change will not tend to show up in Recent Changes or article history. Thanks for working in here!Pat Palmer (talk) 16:03, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi Pat! Thank you for your note and your help. I'll do that in the future! Martin Amanshauser (talk) 09:54, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Write-a-Thon this weekend

This Sunday, we're getting together on the wiki for the first time in a decade to create and edit articles loosely themed on planets, stars, galaxies and cosmic entities - or anything that involves words like those! For more information, see What's a Write-a-thon? etc. Hope to see you there! John Stephenson (talk) 16:33, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Our Write-a-Thon theme this weekend is 'Messaging and Missives'. Please join us! John Stephenson (talk) 22:45, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
  • Hi, I'll try my best, John. Thank you for your message. Martin Amanshauser (talk) 09:33, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
