Thank you and Where to start!

Dan, thank you for the welcome; I'm assuming that you were the constable that approved my initial application. I'm a long-time veteran (well, it seems like a long time to me) of Wikipedia, and one of the antagonizing things there is the un-neutral neutrality and the back-and-forth of removing accurate information that isn't sourced or adding sourced information that is plainly (and commonly known) not to be quite right.
So I was first wanting to know what CZ's policy, if any, was regarding taking a Wikipedia aticle that is both well-researched and quite accurate and basically importing it en total over here. There's a couple I've worked on extensively there and believe that, while they may not be perfect, would be a great article here (and the first one that comes up doesn't exist on CZ yet - I checked).
Thanks in advance for your help. Victor Hoffer 16:51, 13 March 2008 (CDT)

possible article for approval

Of the several engineering editors who are active on the wiki, your background would seem to make you the best person to look at the Coherer article and see if it's ready for approval. It seems like it must be close. Would you mind taking a look? Thanks much. --Joe Quick 12:02, 19 March 2008 (CDT)

Thanks for your email. I'll send a note to the engineering mailing list. --Joe Quick 12:15, 22 March 2008 (CDT)

User name?

Did you mean to have that space in User:Fiorella Tapia- Ortiz? J. Noel Chiappa 18:45, 19 March 2008 (CDT)

my account

Hi, can you close my account (forthwith please) - I can't find out how to do it! I'm sticking with WP (I find them both similar, but WP's the devil I know, and I feel more at home with the guidelines there - and I don't think the rather waffly Professionalism will reach all people the same way). I don't want to leave this account in the air, so can you close it? (I can't do them both as someone has suggested - they are too similar in my view, and one is more than enough!). Regards and best luck, Matt. --Matt Lewis 13:08, 2 April 2008 (CDT)

Returning to Citizendium: an update on the project and how to get involved

Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.

Citizendium now has 17,903 articles, with 0 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Engineering articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Applied Sciences articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Engineering pages that have been recently edited - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project.

If you have any questions, let me know via my Talk page or by leaving a message below this one. Thank you for your previous service; I hope that you will look in on our community soon. John Stephenson 15:15, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
