Ilias Tyrovolas was born in Athens in 1966. He graduated from the Athens Agricultural University department of Food Science in 1994. Since 2009 works as an analyst in the Nafplio Regional Quality Control Centre laboratory, Greece. He became an affiliate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2014.
