I am a biochemist, immunologist, pharmacologist and entrepreneur with master and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from the University of Vienna, Austria where I was originally headed towards an academic career. However, I switched to the pharmaceutical industry in 1986, did a postdoc at Sandoz, and became head of R&D at an Austrian pharma company which I helped to take public at the Frankfurt stock exchange. In 2000 I founded H.M. Pharma Consultancy, which I own and have managed since that time. Focus areas are in life science knowledge management, patenting and market analysis. I manage the discussion group "Drug repurposing - reprofiling - repositioning" on LinkedIn, and am a heavy IT user with broad interests beyond life sciences.
