I'm a writer on Islam and political structure, with particular interest in how large numbers of people can communicate, cooperate, and coordinate toward the common welfare. I founded beyondpolitics.org in 2003 and am known most recently for writing on delegable proxy, voting methods in general, and instant runoff voting in particular. At other times I've been widely known as an author on Islam, and have been invited to speak on college campuses on that topic. I have no formal academic credentials, and am almost entirely self-educated, though, through years of debate on public forums, I've learned a great deal from others.
