I was born in Moscow in 1980. I live in Israel since 1991 - in Haifa, then in Jerusalem, then in Haifa again.

When i was a teenager, i worked in a library. Then i learned programming and moved to the IT industry. I worked as a system administrator of OpenVMS, Windows and Linux systems. Now i work as a software engineer, mostly programming in Perl.

I studied Linguistics since 2002 in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I'm doing it slowly - as of 2007 i still haven't finished my B.A., because i work full-time.

I speak Russian, English and Hebrew fluently. I can read in Belarusian, Lithuanian, Italian, Spanish, Catalan and Latin and i also have some knowledge of Arabic and Amharic.

I frequently edit Wikipedia and i have administrator rights in the English edition. My Wikipedia account is Amire80, but i usually sign my name as Amir E. Aharoni or Дядя Лёша in Russian.
