I am a member of academic staff (Reader) in the Centre for Integrative Physiology at The University of Edinburgh, one of the established key universities in the UK and in the top 5 in the world for Biomedical Research. I direct basic scientific research projects funded by UK Research Councils and Charities in the general fields of hormones and reproduction; much of my work is published in scientific journals and presented at conferences. I also teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical and biology students. I actively contribute to UK science by participating in society committees and organising local and international scientific conferences.
