Is there a database expert in the house?

While I certainly have a working knowledge of commit protocols, I'm really a network person who carries them around the network and is just the delivery guy. Commit/rollback mechanisms in routing protocols and routers are special cases with which I'm very comfortable.

So, if there is someone with deep experience in commit/rollback, feel free to work on this, and, for that matter, we certainly could use articles on locking mechanisms (e.g., semaphores) in general, and nuances like one- and two-stage commit. That would let me work more on pure network fault tolerance, including things like VRRP, anycast, network-aware DNS, etc.
