First (instructor) evaluation comments
Hi Dan,
Here are some suggestions for further improvements to your encyclopedia entry draft. I'm going to stick to the sections you've already been developing, but keep in mind that you still need to fill in the others (from the original page template) as well as the related articles, bibliography, and external links subpages.
- You might try to make the "Policies" section more cohesive by writing an overview at the start of the section. You might also stick more closely to the original page template's "Current objectives and activities" section suggestion by including not only the FRC's policy goals, but also the steps it's taking to achieve them.
- The "History" section looks like it's off to a good start, but you might flesh it out a bit more and perhaps divide it into subsections (probably chronological) to help structure the discussion a bit. Also, you might want to be careful about explaining background information like who Dr. Dobson was and how he got from a post-conference prayer meeting to founding a major organization. As it stands now, the passive voice used to describe the FRC's founding ("The FRC was finally founded...") obscures the process through which it got off the ground.

Second (peer) evaluation comments
What you have so far is a great start, its a good base to work off of. So far you have painted a good picture of what the Family Research Council is and how is started. i would like to suggest a few things though to beef up your entry a little bit. 1. You could add a few things such as some of the current public campaigns that the FRC is a part of that make the public aware of what the FRC does and what it supports. You could also add some of the recent public events that the FRC sponsored or was in some way involved. 2. one more thing you could add is a section that tells the reader about some of the important public figures that are involved with the FRC. A few examples might be congress men and women that have supported the FRC's policies either publicly or in legislation or both. Since the FRC is a very religious group, other figures that might be involved would include religious leaders or priests.
Other than these additions i found your entry very informative and it really helped me get started on my opinion essay. Drew Kunde 04:25, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
