rewritten

I rewrote the article because it was pretty much just a bullet list beforehand, and it seems noone else was actively developing the article. If I did a bad job, I apologize as this was my first edit. I hope it is in good enough shape for other people to elaborate on it. It could use some treatment by a professor. algebraic function

Some people define "algebraic function" to mean any function defined implicitly by an algebraic (polynomial) equation. E.g. the equation

gives x as a function of y explicitly and y as a function of x implicitly. Perhaps this should be edited accordingly. I'll be back..... Michael Hardy 21:01, 30 April 2007 (CDT)
