If I were to be a purist, I might put a disambiguation suffix on this, as a military unit. The military usage, I suspect, is sufficiently common that "kitchen brigade" being called such will not lead to much ambiguity. It will generally be the case that a French kitchen brigade will produce better food than a brigade mess hall, even in the French Army.
