Ratnaboli Ray

Ratnaboli Ray is an Ashoka Fellow, trained clinical psychologist and mental health activist who is the founder of Anjali, a rights based organisation based in Kolkata, West Bengal, which works for persons with mental health condition and or psychosocial disability. She was awarded the Human Rights Watch's Alison Des Forges Award for Extraordinary Activism.[1][2][3][4][5][6] She has been recognised as powerful impact woman by Business Today. She was awarded Times Woman Hero by Times Of India.
On August 18, 2022, Ray spoke out to defend a former professor at Kolkata's St. Xavier's University, after University officials had forced her to resign over the existence of photos of her wearing a bikini.[7] Ray denounced the unfairness of the firing, and posted her own bikini pictures, and called on other celebrities to join her, and post bikini pictures of their own. News 18 reported that celebrities who followed her example included: Payoshni Mitra, Anisha Pal, Bidipta Chakraborty and Rupsa Guha.
