Mitoxantrone is an antineoplastic agent used in medical oncology as part of combination therapy for a variety of cancers. It is also used in severe relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.

The drug is of the anthracycline class, specifically an anthracenedione.

Indications

Approved in humans

Acute myeloid and Acute promyelocytic leukemia, Advanced hormone refractory prostate cancer pain, erythroid leukemia, Relapsing and remitting multiple sclerosis

Off-label human uses

Follicular B-Cell Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Metastatic breast carcinoma, progressive diffuse large B-Cell lymphoma

Veterinary uses

Feline squamous cell carcinoma
