I'm stumped at getting it all to center properly. Stephen Ewen 15:00, 21 December 2007 (CST)

Yep...I guess we've got to find out why it isn't centering. Maybe contact a that MediaWiki help forum? --Larry Sanger 15:01, 21 December 2007 (CST)

Nevermind. --Robert W King 16:21, 21 December 2007 (CST)
I think I know what's messing with the formatting. It is the "Powered by MediaWiki" graphic. Let see if I can figure how to kill that and replace it with some text. Stephen Ewen 19:52, 21 December 2007 (CST)
I had the same problem with MediaWiki:Copyright on Wikipedia. The "Powered by MediaWiki" graphic is, I think, provided by the Monobook skin. You're an admin on this wiki so should be able to fiddle with that ... taking great care ;-) I left it the heck alone on Wikipedia - David Gerard 12:48, 23 December 2007 (CST)
Ah, thanks much, David! Stephen Ewen 14:13, 23 December 2007 (CST)
We have the "A Wikimedia Project" graphic balancing it on the other side - you might want to diff MediaWiki:Monobook.css on the two sites if you want to go down that path. Maybe a balancing graphic would work - David Gerard 14:20, 24 December 2007 (CST)
ahh, that MediaWiki: entry isn't what I thought it was. I'm talking about /skins/monobook/main.css - but you can of course change that for all users on the wiki by putting changes in MediaWiki:Monobook.css. For skin-tweaking discussion, I recommend mediawiki-l, which is mostly discussions amongst intranet admins, small wiki sites and the MediaWiki developers - David Gerard 14:22, 24 December 2007 (CST)
If you want to experiment, here is when someone tried removing the Wikimedia and Mediawiki logos from ru.wikibooks. This should give you something to experiment with, preferably not on the live site ... - David Gerard 16:20, 3 January 2008 (CST)
Cool, thanks David. I also found this at the MediaWiki FAQ but from that it is as yet fully clear to me how to add an image on the left. Stephen Ewen

idea for tweaking wording ("the", etc.) re GFDL

Where it says "Articles that originated in part from Wikipedia are available under $1.", shouldn't it be "[...] under the $1."? (adding the word "the")? Also, should "available under" be changed to "also available under"? Also, where it specifies GFDL 1.2, shouldn't the "1.2" be preceded by the word "version"? (that is, "version 1.2")? Just some suggestions, from Michael Lee Schwartz 18:44, 9 April 2008 (CDT)
