A vasculitis and immune complex disease, which manifests as "systemic non-thrombocytopenic purpura caused by hypersensitivity vasculitis and deposition of immunoglobulin A-containing immune complexes within the blood vessels throughout the body, including those in the kidney (kidney glomerulus).
