FAN SONG versions[1]
The fire control radar of the S-75 Dvina (Western: SA-2 GUIDELINE) surface-to-air missile system, was given the Western designation FAN SONG. It was complemented by the battery-level SPOON REST radar for target acquisition.
| Model | Range | Frequency | Power | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A/B | 60-120km | E/F-band | 600kw | A was quickly replaced |
| C/E | 70-145km | G-band | 1 Mw | Increased range |
| F | 70-145km | E/F-band | 600kw | Additional low-altitude and electronic counter-countermeasures modes |
The later FAN SONG variants had two antennas operating on different frequencies, one to track the target's compass bearing (i.e., azimuth relative to the launcher) and the other to track its altitude (i.e., elevation relative to the receiver). [2]
