Europe is a Swedish hard rock band who influenced the power metal genre of rock music. The Final Countdown album, released in 1986, became a worldwide hit, selling more than six million copies, and the title track was number 1 in 26 countries.[1] The ballad Carrie reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the USA.
