The American Jewish Congress is an interest group of Jewish Americans organized to defend Jewish interests at home and abroad through public policy advocacy. These interests include advocating for the safety and security of the State of Israel, and upgrading its role in NATO.

It advocates for religious freedom and freedom of speech in the U.S., including the separation of church and state, and opposing efforts of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to restrict "defamation of religion, especially Islam", through the efforts of the Coalition to Defend Free Speech.
